The Mercedes-Benz S 320 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Is Officially Unveiled

Mercedes has announced today that starting at the end of 2008, they'll be expanding their BlueEFFICIENCY lineup to include a luxury saloon in the form of the S 320 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY. Compared to its predecessor, the S 320 CDI, the BlueEFFICIENCY variant boasts fuel savings of some 10 percent, a figure that translates into real world fuel consumption of 7.6 liters per 100 km (0.7 liters less than the standard S 320 CDI) and CO2 emissions of 199 g/km (21 grams less than the standard S 320 CDI). For my American readers, that equates to roughly 31 mpg, a figure that makes it one of the most economical luxury sedans in the world.

The only cars I dream about are ones that aren't offered in the U.S. The Sierra Cosworth; Mercedes 190e 2.5-16V Evolution II; Toyota Celica GT4; Alfa Romeos.

The celica gt4 was offered here between the mid to late 80's in very ltd. amounts. 2 people I know have one.

Let me clarify that. I knew that it was here originally, but we only got the first gen. I'm referring to the mid 90s celica gt4.

A few years ago, I had spent some time researching how to import one to the U.S. I sent emails to the NHTSA. Turns out, you can't import one into the U.S. But if I remember correctly, you can import it to Canada. That's about as close as you'd be able to get one in the U.S.
