EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Did 001 Spy The Next BMW 5-Series, Progressive Activity Sedan Or Both?

EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Did 001 Spy The Next BMW 5-Series, Progressive Activity Sedan Or Both?
You know how James Bond always seems to have incredible luck in almost every situation he's involved in?

Well Agent 001 seems to have the same touch when he's out and about testing and spying new cars.

During today's drive of the new BMW 335 in Italy, Austria and Germany, 001 and  Automotive News editor Diana Kurylko, accidentally ran into what was either the next 5, Progressive Activity Sedan or both testing in the Alps.

The car/cars eluded us after our first run in, taking off in a hurry in the other direction but Agent 001 had the last laugh, as he used his uncanny spy sense to hunt down the vehicle down again, in one of the towns in Austria.

That's where we got close up to the one car and were able to snap the detailed shots.

And when you look close...I think it could be two different camo cars that I photographed!

Which vehicles do you think they are and if one is the PAS, do you think it will be a success if they bring it to the USA?

Will this PAV be a high-riding Magnum-like wagon...that can carry some people and a lot of stuff while also being able to show some muscle and finesse? Or maybe something like the Allroad model that Audi used to make?

You really need a Pola-Filter 001. It would cut through those reflections like a hot knife through butter.

S4,

Is quite simple. There was never a car wearing the BMW badge that disappointed. Why would this one be any different?

Dear Agent 001 and all Agents lucky enough to be armed with a camera when you come across such an opp - Please permanently equip your lenses with a circular polarizer!!! No serious auto photographer should be caught without one. They're cheap and make a world of difference. It will eliminate reflections and glare in those window shots. Your images will be vastly improved - trust me!

One observation about this 5er PAS - it is clear the roofline will closely resemble the X6 and not a Malibu hatchback as some has suggested in the past. The plastics above the rear window fake a higher roofline than what will be in reality. Follow the contour of the rear window to get the idea. This will be less wagon-like, and more coupe-like, ala BMW's own X6. Should be a stunner.

What the hell is a PAS? Why is BMW putting out stupid cars now? What happened to the days of simplicity? 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, a Z car and X5 are all we need.

PAS ????

Reminds me Caddy's great invention, the ETC. Looked really prestigious on the back of the coupe...

On a second thought, BMW refers to the X5 SUV as an SAV (utility swapped for avtivity) - voila, X5 sales still up when the rest of the SUV world is WAAY down.

I do not want to bother you bimmerfans, but looks as bland as the 7 series....I prefer to wait until I see the finished thing.
