Hyundai introduces new high-performance V6 Lambda RS engine

Hyundai introduced today its new high-performance V6 Lambda (?) RS (Rear wheel drive Sports) engine. The new power plant will make its officially debut on the Genesis Coupe which is going to be launched in Korea this month.

Based on the first Lambda engine introduces four years ago, in 2004, the RS edition of the power plant features new key modifications which increased the power to a maximum 310 hp and peak torque to 36.8kg/m@4700rpm.

The Genesis Coupe will be based on the same rear wheel drive architecture as the Genesis sedan and represents one of the seven vehicles that Hyundai is planning to introduce until 2010.

A high performance engine with 310hp? Doesn't the base V6 already have 310hp in that coupe? That must be a typo, or old news.

They'll soon introduce a 300hp loaded coupe that'll be 10+ grand less than a base BMW, I'd say they deserve some lime light.

I'd pick a Genesis over a 300C any day. The quality in the Hyundai is better than the cheap plastic bits in the Chrysler.
