i think its hot its going more into the female side of things like BMW ex...X1,X3,X5,1 series,3 series but beleive it or not thats a nice looking porsche it kinda has the look of the old & new scirocco. thats a good look for porsche right there I think it would be a big seller

I knew it! My friends and I were discussing why Porsche wanted VW so bad, its true after all. They're going down market. First it was the the whole GT-R debate now this! I'm sorry, Porsche has lost all credibility with me. They're going to become just another car company. Its a sad day for the automotive world.

This is a really old story from months ago. Nevertheless I think it would be a good idea, more VW parts sharing with good power and major differentiation is a good idea for Porsche. Just like what they are doing with the Cayenne and the Panamera they are making themselves a brand that will stand through hard times as well as great times. Its a good business decision.

VW = Solid economical cars built for the masses

Porsche is Germany's super car maker!. Keep it that way and stop trying to become a producer of cars for the masses.

From 1969 to 1976 Porsche and Volkswagen collaborated on another mass-market sports car, the Porsche 914. It was a disaster. You would think that Porsche would have learned its lesson from this earlier misstep.

Porsche should stick to what it's good at - building world-class high-performance cars. Porsche doesn't have quite the cachet as Ferrari, but it's not far from it. They already have an excellent entry-level model - the Boxster/Cayman, which starts at $45,000. Trying to go mass-market would only cheapen Porsche's reputation.

Besides, Porsche now owns the Volkswagen Group. Volkswagen, SEAT, and Skoda are perfectly capable of making more affordable sports-oriented vehicles on their own. (Audi is developing premium-priced smaller vehicles like the A1 and A3, with their premium price supposedly justified by Audi's design, technology, luxury and performance. We shall see if that approach works.)

The VW Group members are on the verge of stepping on each other's toes. Volkswagen is still toying with the idea of building a new Phaeton that will compete directly with the Audi A6, and Audi's A1 and A3 models overlap to a degree with the the VW Polo and Golf. Now Porsche is pondering this new entry-level model in collaboration with VW.

Stop this overlapping, Porsche. Leave well enough alone.

Oops - I forgot to mention another example of VW group overlap - the Audi R8 is competing with the Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 GT3.
