Maserati MC12, new “King of the Ring”

Maserati MC12, new “King of the Ring”
I know we talked a lot this week about the Nurburgring race track due to the conflict between Porsche and Nissan, because the Japanese manufacturer says that its GT-R is fast enough to set a lap record of 7 minutes and 29 seconds while the German manufacturer says Nissan is not telling the truth. Well, enough about them: today was a big day and supercars such as the Ferrari Enzo, Koenigsegg CCX, Maserati MC12, Pagani Zonda F Clubsport and Porsche Carrera GT wanted to claim the title of the new “King of the Ring”.

I would like to see how the Gumpert Apollo and Ascari A10 do on the track.

The Ascari would be the one I would really like to see. BTW, didn't the ZR1 do it at 7.22?

This is some amazing ring time, man those guys/girls are really lucky to be able to test drive those supercars.

Yeah, I wonder why the ZR1 is not included in the race? And I can't wait to see the ring time spec for the up and coming Nissan GT-R V-Spec.

Finally, someone runs the ring with the Enzo and this car was how old. I know it's no where near the quickest time compared to Viper or ZR1 but I've always wondered what the Enzo could achieve around the ring. 7.25 for a six year old car is quite remarkable in my opinion, can't wait to see its successor.

Yea a lot of these super cars that Chevy and Dodge boasts about beating are nearly 5 years old.

not surprised by the enzo and carrera gt figures. they are quite the focus supercars. but i sure am surprised at how well the pagani did. i mean, its a seriously powerful car, but i thought it rather skittish. I would have expected it to be slightly ahead of the CCX.

From what I understand, the Pagani was always described as a pretty civil car to drive.

To this day it amazes me... the Maserati was a detuned version of the Enzo... yet it consistantly runs faster lap times. Can someone explain this? The Enzo is supposed to be a better car, but its not. Maybe the Maser handles the power better since there's less of it? Thoughts?
