2009 Audi A4 receives five-star rating at the NHTSA tests

What makes the 2009 Audi A4 sport sedan a leading choice among car buyers is its superb safety features that has been strongly confirmed by the US government’s passenger car safety tests. The A4 attained the highest rating of from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Safety regulations in the US require passenger cars to pass the standard 30 mph (48 km/h) front and 33.5 mph (54 km/h) side crash tests.

However, the New Car Assessment Program or NCAP, on which the A4’s performance was based, subjected the vehicle to tests that were 5 mph (8 km/h) faster than the regular crash tests, thus providing buyers more safety information. The ratings given by the NHTSA ranges from one star for the bottom performers to five stars for the highest.

This is great ammo to get my wife to give up the X5 in which she feels so secure. I love the specs/pictures/mpg and now safety of the new S-Line Avant but I recently saw a base A4 in the flesh at Costco and it seemed to look cheaply done compared to previous versions of the A4. Has anyone seen any new S-line models in the flesh?

The base A4 trim line, called "Premium" is a little austere. However, the "Premium Plus" is nicer. The top trim line, called "Prestige" is definitely worth it - very classy. I believe you have to get the Premium Plus or Prestige trim line to get the S-Plus package.

The base A4 loses the LED lights and comes with very ugly wheels, so don't go by that car as an indication of higher-level A4s. The nicer ones are quite striking on the road and look way better than the B7 A4.

The new A4 has such a sleek and futuristic look to it almost like the car in the that Will Smith movie.

The BMW 3 has that old man boring look to it.I think finally Audi's A4 beats the 3 in the looks dept.
