Cerberus Sets It Sights Now On GMAC and GM. Could The Big Three Become Only Two?

is it me or it looks like Ford's chances of surviving look a million times better than GM and especially Chrysler. If this merger happens we will be looking at the BIG 1 then because that would be the worse decision ever!!

Not every article gets posted guys it is a simple fact. The Time article has several glaring errors that were easily dispelled by looking at last quarters sales figures.

My totally uninformed opinion is, Cerberus has found itself in the snake pit that is the auto industry. Now feeling pinched, hard, they are looking for a little help. Currently GM is feeling a very nasty financial pinch of its own. So, GM having the "know how" (argue all you want about that) of the auto biz, Cerberus has money and financial know how, to me it makes a little sense. GM would, if possible, kill Chrysler as a whole. Frankly not many, other than employees would miss it. End result Cerberus is the financial arm and GM kills all except Jeep. Why would you need Hummer when you already own the nations oldest and most respected off road brand.

Oh I almost forgot this. Could it be possible, thru bankruptcy court, to shed unwanted dealers? This is the big unknown to my little theory.

cerberus doesn't know what to do with the car market, they want just financial arm but for so long the kept financial arm has been used to just flush the market with cars that otherwise wouldn't sell that even that will not work... as far as gm/chrysler merger... don't know but didn't nissan want a merger with chrysler not so long ago... probably a better idea that might actually make business sense especially if you trim the makes and models to better reflect the demand.

Chrysler needs to quit it already...and when i say that, i mean specifically CHRYSLER cars (sebring etc.)...they make ugly cars, i mean i can't really describe it another way...everytime i see a new sebring on the road...from the back the first thing that becomes visible is the gas tank. I can see that crap like 300 feet away! Come on now, one bad scrape on a speed bump and yeh you can imagine. Cerberus, make it easy on yourself, and spare people one more brand of trashy cars.

anyway...why would a decent company like GM merge with (now crap) chrysler?

Ok GM buys Chrysler.. Jeep and Hummer merge into one.
The H3 is more inline with Jeep than the SUV's they make now.
Take Dodge and keep its Mini-van, GM could use this one. Dodge trucks could be sold off to one of the bigger truck companys.. Umm scap everythign else...
But really what else is there to Chrysler. Of course the is the 300.. but its like over now.. The Viper.. don't need it and its in need of replacement soon..
Sad really, but really can't see why GM would want this company... other than Jeep and the Mini Van.

chrysler has been on the ropes several times in the past. the difference now is that they are owned by MONEY guys and they dont care about anything else except profit. chrysler has NOTHING worth buying with their brand name on it and if it werent for jeep they could easily disappear without a trace. aside from the poverty level only neon and the ram when was the last time you say an old chrysler? they dont last more than the time on the warranty. and minivans are basically invisible since everyone hates them and turns away when they see them on the road. RIP chrysler. ford, youre next if you dont fire j mays and bring over the good cars from europe.
