BMW to lay off 733 temporary workers

As many as 733 temporary workers at BMW’s Greer plant will be laid off in December as the German automaker begins to feel the effects of the world financial crisis.

If they thought they'd become permanent during this highly volatile financial environment, they must've been breathing fumes directly from a BMW tailpipe.

I would hope that most of those temp workers knew their job was just...temporary. Only UAW members believe temporary positions should last them for life.

Does the below sound familiar StarSearch? So are you really married to a woman and do you actually own an A8 or an S8? Just the facts please...

...ummm I DON'T. my wife does, and before that she had a 330CiC, I own the S8. (please don't make me explain what a "wife" is, or a female for that matter). Buddy, you act like I said Aston Martin, it's a 40-something thousand dollar car that alot of people can afford, yet you act like I'm bragging about it...wow.

Oh, and StarSearch, as for the "typo" -- you know the S8 versus the A8 incident. I find it very hard to believe because there is an S8 and you could have reposted your correction.

I firmly believe you lie.. You own the S8 and several days later it magically turns into an A8, which most car buffs know the Audi S8 is much more expensive than the Audi A8.

You might as well own up to it.. You lied.. Too much of a coincidence. You are no better than the ones you talk down to on this site. You've talked so much trash that you forget what you have put on here and think most people will not notice that you screwed up.

Every automaker is getting rattled by this "shitty" economy.
BTW, profitability says nothing about whether one car is better than another.
IMHO, the BMW line-up is superior (performance/handling) to the Audi counterpart and better value for the $$$$..
If BMW were to make less per vehicle than Audi wouldn't alter the performance/handling equation.
