Spy Photos: Porsche 911 Turbo Facelift

I an owner of the 997 has been proud of my purchase since the beginning. I find my car an engineering marvel and is still surprised to this day that with an engine in the rear, it is that great of a performer.

I'm a potential GT-R Spec V buyer and still believe the Nissan is in a different range of buyer, but it doesn't deter me (if anything the whole launch control issue will). I have gone to meets where a few of the fellow 997 owners have GT-R orders in place so I am anticipating a good GT-R meet up in the later stage of 2009.

Porsche is an exotic brand that incorporates luxury. The Nissan which is primarily an economy brand offering family oriented vehicles does not have the brand image of a Porsche, Audi (R8), and the Italian hyper cars. I love my Porsche because it's has done great runs against F430's and Gallardo's and as an overall brand it is pretty competitive in that segment with the Italian's, and the Carrera GT is simply amazing. I will love my GT-R for the market it will dominate, which is the Japanese Market. It's a niche market that the NSX and GT-R will own since the Lexus LF-A is unknown at this point. I have read some rumors that a potential "supra" will be made but who really knows anymore.

Anyways back to the topic, facelift looks good (I still like my pre-facelifted version though =D)

GT-R = great car

I'm happy because it's a win win situation. Anyone in the Seattle, WA area and own a GT-R or any Porsche let me know. We're having 10 meets in 2009 scheduled.

lexurious: Its better to own a so called "p.o.s" that is in production than a potentially great car that will never hit the streets. The difference one is reality and one is still just a dream.

If he wanted to he could do some ECU remapping and give his car 800hp and it would blow the doors off your "classy" Nissan.

Most of the fanboys on this site for Nissan aren't real enthusiasts. I think 997tt is truthful in his opinion and the only respectable guy on this site. He tells it like it is. The rest of you probably haven't even driven a Porsche to experience how good it really is. Nissan would be crashing into walls if they had their engine in the rear.

Has the PDK been confirmed for the turbo? If it is this thing will be insanely quick with the addition of PDK and the 20 extra hp, as if it wasn't quick enough. Will be fun to see how it compares to the last 997 and the GTR.

The new Porsche 911 motor is a work of technological art!!! I suggest you read about it. Completely bullet proof and the PDK dual clutch only adds to its greatness.

The ONLY downside to the new 911 is that the PDK system gets better numbers than the 6SP. I prefer manual but hard to opt for it if PSD makes you faster.

It will be interesting to see how much the PDK improves the acceleration of the TT. Recall that the current 911 Turbo Tip is rated at .2 seconds faster to 60 than the 6 speed, but the 2009 PDK equipped Carrera and Carrera S are .4 - .5 seconds faster than the 2008 models with the Tiptronic. Obviously the 2009s have slightly more powerful engines, but that's still a huge improvement over the previous automatic. Could a sub 3 second time be possible in a twin turbo with PDK and a little more power? That would be unbelievable.

And Launch Control not required...

Porsche just keeps improving the breed. Anytime someone responds with "your Porsche is a POS...", what they are really saying is "I'm envious as hell and wish I could own one". Such responses are simply amusing. My response will most likely receive an angry retort, but you know what, I couldn't care less. I am tremedously happy with my Cayman S.
