Chrysler dropping AWD option on trio of models

Chrysler will drop its all-wheel-drive option for the 2009 Dodge Avenger, Caliber and Chrysler Sebring because of low demand.

The information was confirmed by company spokesman Jiyan Cadiz, who said the option never really caught on since its introduction for those particular models late last year

Guess people like sliding all over the place.

Why drop it from the Caliber. The Pontiac Vibe and Matrix still offer it. Guess they now own the market on small AWD hatches. Although the other competition would be the Subaru 2.5 (WRX is out of the price comparison). The Suzuki SX4 is tiny in size comparo.

When Mazda gets smart and offers AWD in the 3 hatch then you got some problems. I bought my Matrix over the 3 cause of that reason.

Caliber is a dying car anyways, hardly any on the roads, I don't even see them at rental companies, and its overly boxy shape is not something people in the small hatchback segment are looking for.

They should drop it from the literally jacked up 300 & Charger AWD's. Look @ the tire to body - gap on those things, looks disgusting.

Why does it look strikingly similar to a Charger?
