Nissan wants to buy 20% stake in Chrysler
With a number of reports claiming a formal announcement detailing a merger partner for Chrysler is expected within the next two weeks, all eyes are currently focused on the two most likely suitors – General Motors and Renault-Nissan.

While there’s a chance Chrysler may be merged entirely into either GM or Renault-Nissan, a more likely outcome is that the assets of the Auburn Hills company will be broken up and divided among the two.

Nissan is an already econobox company. With Chrysler's poor quality-luxury it will only get more tacky looking if they share parts bins.

Nissan has three satisfactory cars. Maxima, 350z, and GT-R. The rest of their lineup is garbage.

The Chrysler Group has only the Viper that's worthy of purchase.

So if you put majority garbage from both sides you'll just get more garbage. Sorry for hating but I've had bad experiences with Chrysler and Nissan rental cars.

I hate when people generalize. I've owned a AMC Pacer, a Ford Escort, Mercedes 300e (German specs), VW Scirocco, Audi 100 (German specs), Cadillac Coupe De Ville, Mazda Mx-6, Mazda Millenia, Mazda 626, Infiniti Q45, Nissan Altima, Bmw 645ci, Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Town and Country, Ford Windstar and a Mercedes s430. Most of the cars I've owned haven't given me much trouble except for:
Ford Escort: POS
Mercedes s430: loves the shop..i think it has a girlfriend there.
BMW 645ci: has a few minor problems.
Cadillac coupe de ville: serious pos

But all of my other cars never spent time in the shop.not even the Pacer (i still can't believe that on myself, but true)
All and all, I've had more problems w/ my Caddy, Escort, Merc and my BMW than any of the cars I owned. None of those are Nissan. I've owned 1 and an Ifiniti..probably the best cars I've owned (still own the Infiniti along w/ the Merc, BMW and the Honda). I just hate when people on this site bash Nissan. But you don't know any better. Dude it was a rental.

Agent63:

The latest BMW 3 series commercial brags soooo hard that their precious 3 has been the benchmark for the past 17 years.

If we already know the obvious why waist money on making a commercial about it hmmm?

Nissan / Infiniti is a great company. I have a FX35 which is my second infiniti and my wife has a 300ZX. I love Nissan cars and reliability. Fit and Finish could be better but for the money you really do get a great car. I think that if Nissan bought Chrysler it would be a vast imrpovement on the product although I'm not sure what Chrysler would really contribute to Nissan Renault other than give them an edge on the Truck market.
