Toyota Expected To Report First Sales Drop In A Decade

Toyota Motor Corp. will post its first decline in annual global sales in a decade this year, hit by slowing demand worldwide amid the financial crisis, a Japanese newspaper predicted Wednesday.

Japan's largest automaker will likely sell 8.3 million units in 2008 on the parent level -- excluding subsidiaries and affiliates -- down from 8.43 million units in 2007, the Nikkei daily said, citing no sources.

Demand has been weak in the United States, Europe and Japan amid the global financial crisis and worries over an international economic slowdown, the paper said.

Why is this such news to most. All companies around the world is experiencing a decline in sales. Maybe its is such a large decline that Toyotains are in shock consumers are not purchasing Tundras and Sequioas.

They are only going to sell 8.3 million vehicles down from 8.43 million. waaaah waaaaaaah. They sure are stuggling over there. They better go ahead and close down shop. Dont see how they can survive on 8.3 million vehicles sold in a year. Its comments like this that makes me understand why you all hate on toyota.
