With as much money as he spent on all that, I'm sure he could have simply bought a real one by now... Kudos though for completing what he started.

Sounds like it wasn't a money issue. I would bet it would be a nice little hobby, especially spending all that time on it!

I can't believe how people can look at what this man accomplished and feel that it was about money. This guy wasn't trying to save a buck by building this car. He most likely did it because he knew he could do it. The satisfaction from completing something like this will never have a price tag! He probably spent 5 times as much money and time just building this thing...so what if he could have bought an old used one...the fact is this one was built with his own two hands and was never driven by anyone else.

But sadly, when the chips fall, he created a copy of something. I admire the hard work and dedication, but surely you'd have to come with me when I say that if this was about him creating something that was wholly his and original, he would have built something.... original. It appears he just wanted a Lamborghini for whatever reason. Building one in his basement, however much pride he gets from the job, is still just a garage built kit car. Plenty of people do this all the time. Should we praise "Joe the hot-rodder" for doing the same thing?

In the 5th to last pic it looks like the car has about 1 inch of ground clearance.

Why did he build it in his basement, knowing he was going to have to dig it out? Other than that he did a good job on it.

doesn't look like he had a garage. On the plus side, now that he has a ramp leading down to the basement, he can just install a door and voila!: heated garage.

Like another individual suggested: If he had this type of talent, I would have fabricated my own design of something...

BTW, I would like to know where he went with the interior...

That guy should turn hobby into a business and build custom replicas. Im sure his wife would appreciate that aspect

If you can build a Countach by hand, you can build any car by hand. To your shock that includes any BMW.

Impressive! I would have improved upon the original design, I couldn't imagine driving this around town with such a big overhang in the front end. Not to take away from what this guy did, he is truly a genius! My late great grandfather could make anything! And he wore a suit while he did it! Us young guys are babes in the woods compared to the old timers from his era.

So, what do you say about this one? No magic feel here huh? I guess you've driven it and everything right?
