Rolls-Royce RR4 "Baby Phantom" Spied in Dubai Video

Rolls-Royce RR4
The video itself shows the Rolls-Royce RR4 prototype taking to the streets in Dubai. Luckily the video capturer had his camera ready to snap up this video of the car. The new smaller Rolls will be based on the long wheelbase of the new BMW 7 Series and should see its own "exclusive engine" as our friends at WCF point out. We would like to see a modified version of the twin turbo V8 found in the current generation BMW 7 er. Look for a launch sometime in 2010 , when you will for sure see a few "rollin" around Dubai.

I think BMW reps stated that the "baby Phantom" would be based off the next 7-series model. We should expect the same or level of performance with elevated levels of interior comforts and quality (and it'll probably be configurable to the customer's tastes).

Cool video - too bad the new roller wasn't ready two years' sooner - I suspect that conspicuous consumption might soon be out.

BTW, the only pictures I've ever seen of Dubai were of the developed (i.e. landsacped and irrigated) part - malls, hotels, waterfront, etc. From the video there is no mistaking that it is a really hot desert - it looks like Houston without any trees. Anybody who lives in Dubai care to share what its like there?
