Volkswagen Reports Global Sales Growth Of 3.9% For The Year So Far
Volkswagen AG, Europe's biggest automaker, said Friday its worldwide sales rose 3.9 percent through September as a slowdown in new car buying in western Europe was offset by gains in China, Brazil and eastern Europe.

The Wolfsburg-based company said it sold 4.8 million cars from January to September. It said that lifted its global market share to 10.1 percent, a gain of half a percent from last year.

But the company said sales growth was only 0.7 percent in the month of September, with 550,000 cars sold worldwide.
