Volkswagen bringing the Scirocco to the U.S. with more power

Volkswagen has previously said that they won’t bring the Scirocco to the U.S. in fears that it may take away from the sales of the Volkswagen GTI. They also thought that even though the car would fit the U.S. market the current exchange rates wouldn’t allow Volkswagen to make money on the Scirocco.

V-Dub is now rethinking its decision as enthusiasts react positively to the Scirocco in Europe, and as Americans get overly excited to see it here and there on U.S. roads.

It actually is a Golf with a wider track.However it sits 3 inches lower then the new GTI. Further it has slightly better handling then the GTI and is a little bit quicker.I personally like the styling over the current and future GTI. The GTI, especially the 09 replacement is very boxy and upright looking. It has the same front end as the Scirroco but does not look nearly a sleek. The Scirroco is more of a hatchback sports car.

It's a little extended but yes pretty much the same. The article should read something different though.

If this plan goes through , I'm curious to see if this will fit in, in relation to the the upcoming GTI R (R20T). I'm guessing it would squeeze between the GTI and GTI R20T
