To date, over 6,000 Camaro orders have been received. 84% of these orders have been for the SS V8 version, showing that the vast majority of these orders have been by enthusiasts or high-power performance fans.

If people are going to order the car, they're inclined to be the types who will get the SS. As nice as the base Camaro has been reported to be, why order it? Get the big dog.
