One of the UGLIEST trucks and dumbest ideas in a long time getting its true reward

WE TOLD YOU SALES WOULS STINK!!!

FROM AUTOMOTIVE NEWS:

Early sales of Honda's Ridgeline truck disappoint; high prices pegged as main problem

The Honda Ridgeline has a price problem

The innovative V-6 pickup costs about $10,000 more than other compact trucks in the United States. And that is hurting sales, says Koichi Kondo, president of American Honda Motor Co.

(TRUST THE SPIES, IT'S MUCH MORE THAN JUST PRICE! IT'S UGLIER THAN SANDRA BERNHARD'S FACE IN A MIRROR!).

Weren't these the same guys PRAISING it in all their publications like AutoWeek? Ah, I forgot...don't want to piss off the Honda ad agency or lose out on the free trips. So we'll stay clear of an honest opinion until we're ABSOLUTELY forced to, by the dismal sales news! ;)

What a dumb idea! A Honda pickup truck.

The *idea* of a Honda pickup isn't bad. It's the implementation that sucks. If Honda had delivered a competitive vehicle that looked okay and was priced right, and as a result, sold well, you'd be praising it for being a "great idea". No?

wait, sounds familiar--like the relationship autospies has with mercedes and infiniti ad agencies.

that so called "dumb idea" of a honda pickup is lightyears ahead of any other truck on the road in functionality. try looking at an unbiased source like consumer reports. lord knows we won't find unbiased reporting here.

Comon here ladies, just a minute. We bought a new Ridgeline about 6 weeks ago, after test driving everything else on the market. With voice recognition, navigation, stability control, traction control, and technology that American trucks won't have for YEARS, this is one heck of a vehicle. If you buy a pick up for looks then you get just what you deserve. In our world, pretty is as pretty does. Pricey, yes it is a little pricey but drive a new Dodge, Jimmy, Chevrolet, or Ford for three years and see how it stacks up against the Ridgeline in terms of re sale value and you will again understand pretty is as pretty does. If you need a light duty pick up, this one is hard to top.

I'm no fan of Sandra Bernhard, but Autospies sure throws a low blow to her appearance in this article about the Honda Ridgeline. From what we've seen, Autospies could use a little appearance enhancement as well, and if they can dish it out, they ought to be able to take some criticism of their own without "censoring" it. After all, it was Autospies that brought up the comparison, not the readers!

This IS about the Ridgeline, which just received the highest anti-rollover rating ever recorded for a truck. So, unless the ladies object, I think there's a lot more to a truck than discussing how it looks. Save the makeup and beauty parlor talk for the beauty parlor, and quit making such a big deal about how it looks. Does it perform like a truck or not, that's the REAL question. In some ways yes and in others no. The men here need to start talking about this in REAL terms.
