Corvette ZR1 chops off 4 second on Nurburgring time
While Porsche and Nissan continue to argue over the Nissan GT-R Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7:29, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 knocked another 4 seconds off it’s already blazing fast time of 7:26.4.

Driver Jan Magnussen, a race car driver from Denmark and a GM factory driver, took the Corvette ZR1 around the Nordschleife in 7:22.4. That makes the Corvette ZR1 faster than the Ferrari Enzo, Pagani Zonda F Clubsport and Maserati MC12. However it’s still slower than the...

Go Corvette...that being said it probably broke the record for fuel consumption as well.

Uhhh. . . it gets better gas mileage than a GT2, and I'd wager to bet ANYTHING else that even tries to play in the 7:30 club.

I'm inclined to think that the German cars fans will take this a lot better than the GT-R beating Porsche around the ring.

Honestly...I may agree with you on this point...only because people can relate the superior performance to sheer horsepower and handling for the Vette...whereas with the GT-R it's the performance/power relationship is thrown a curve ball...leading to some very heavy suspicions!

The GT-R V-spec may have just lost some breathing room.

>>> ATTENTION !! <<<

I would like to announce that from this point forward...all comparisons of the GT-R to the ZR-1 should come to a HALT!....There is NO comparison!!! ...from now on the SPEC-V will have the burden of fighting that battle !!!

The ZR1 looks good and performs good but cars in it's category is built on budget. All the 'bang for buck' value type cars are built while monitored with a cap.

The 'Vette has some cheap materials too. I hope they revised that. The GT-R which also has cheap plastics falls in the same category of car(fast and bang for buck value). I was naive to believe that too. In an expensive NISSAN they gave us cheap plastics like the one's from the 350 and the Armada.

You have to see and feel it to believe it.

Don't doubt that the ACR would beat it around the track considering the Vette has...whats that word?...oh an 'interior'.

But to only be .3 secs behind. Thats not even negligable. Those two cars are absurd...in a good way.

When is Porsche gonna say the best they can achieve on ZR1 is 7:45?

Wow! Absolutely incredible. Not to mention that it, unlike the Viper, would be a relative pleasure to drive home.

When I saw the video of Jim Mero doing the 7:26 run, I was thinking that I would have completely soiled myself if I was in the passenger seat.

I can't imagine a 7:22..

From day one I was sure the ZR-1 will walk away with this title. This only seals the deal further.
