If anything Toyota should be STF away from GM. Right now they seem like they have the plague, and this comes from a longtime GM fan and continual domestic nut.

Toyota is well aware of the pitfalls of partnering with the "devil" (GM).

They also are aware if GM falters many of the supply sources they use in the US will falter as well. So do they help the giant stay afloat to assure they don't have future issues?

In this case it "may" be in the best interest of Toyota to assist GM in staying afloat. If not they may have more costly logistics issues in the future.

Remember I live in the South. We tend to embrace the mavericks rather than protest them. In some areas they simply resist.

nothing new gm and toyota did work with the early 90's corolla and the GEO metro so old news to me

Metro was Suzuki, Suzuki Swift.

Toyota and GM worked together on the 1985 FWD "Nova" which was a Corolla. Later this was called a Geo Prism.

There was also the Geo Tracker which was a Suzuki Sidekick, the Geo Storm which was an Isuzu Impulse.
