I wish MB has something like that, now regarding Audi, they do not need a car like that due they already have super car that reach 203 milles per hour and it is ECO orinted.

You might not like the idea of a halo car, but it's not just for badge whores. Nissan sells the GT-R for that reason, Chevy builds the Corvette, Dodge builds the Viper, and so on. It's one of the things that creates excitement and sells cars. It's what successful companies do.

MaindrianPace, it doesn't have to have the biggest engine they can shoehorn into the engine bay to offer tremendous performance. And shoving monster engines into their cars isn't BMW's performance recipe anyway, never has been. That's MB AMG, not BMW M. The original M1 wasn't running around with a giant V12 or anything, and neither was the last M3 (or even the current M3, M5, etc. compared to the other cars in the class). Besides, if Nissan and Porsche can get supercar performance figures out of a twin turbo six (and in Nissan's case, on a vehicle that weighs almost 4000lbs), I am sure BMW can too. We already know BMW can coax 450hp+ out of the twin turbo 3.0L. If a 335i can get 0-60 in 4.8 seconds with the regular engine, I am sure a 450-500hp version in a lighter, pure sports car would be fairly fantastic. And if they need to, who knows what they could do with the new 4.4L V8TT? 550-600hp and similar torque? Could you imagine an M1 with that engine? Hello, ZR-1 figures.

Anyway, BMW has already said they're not going for the $400k club here. Porsche struggled to sell Carrera GT's and Mercedes had trouble with SLR's in that range. They're not trying to compete with Ferrari and Lamborghini. But something that truly goes head to head with the Audi R8 and 911 Turbo for, say, $150k? As long as the performance is there BMW isn't going to lose sales over the fact that the car doesn't have the biggest engine in the class. It certainly hasn't hurt 911 sales.

I hope that design gets tweaked a little more because thats not appealing at all. But Im sure they will go above and beyond as they always do to make this a car that everyone will try to attack with their own version of it AS EXPECTED..............

1970's BMW F1 4cly. turbo made 1000 hp. Believe it was 2.4L. BMW 3.5l I6 twin turbo would be sweet.
