The designer of the BMW Z8 struts his stuff again

In early September, a great friend of the Spies and the designer of the BMW Z8 and Aston DB9, Henrik Fisker, will rock the world again with his latest design.

The new company is called Fisker Coachbuild and the car will be called Tramonto, which means 'Sunset' in Italian.

Here is a preview sketch of the first model they will roll off the line in Irvine after the introduction in Frankfurt...

If you don't already know it, he's the best in the business.

Forget Bangle, Henrik is the best there is.

We believe BMW made the mistake of a lifetime, when they let him leave to go to Aston.

It actually looks to me a bit like an Aston with the front grille.

The Z8 is an amazing Automobile. Speaking of a presense! The local BMW dealership had one for the longest time in the show room. If I had a car garage, despite the retro style and the center-mounted instrument cluster, I would have been very, very tempted.

there is no question he is one of the best designers. unfortunately since aston, he seems to be recycling the same design (xk8, tramonto)--which ruins the uniqueness of those cars.

The late BMW Z8 is truly a classic in its own time. Too bad that didn't rub off on the rest of their vehicles :-(

So Fisker Coachbuild is going to be one of these random supercar shops or something? They'll re-use other company's engines and stuff?

There are a lot of these out there, but none of them seem terribly relevant...
