GM/Chrysler merger could bring death to 7 Chrysler cars

GM and Chrysler are moving in on a deal that could result in a GM/Chrysler mergers causing as many as half of Chrysler’s factories to close and about seven of the Cerberus owned company’s models to be wiped out.

The Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Caravan/Town&Country, 300, Charger and Calibur are probably the only "safe" models. Everything else I would think is questionable.

Too Bad, The Challenger Car was really promising. Great design and roomy. I liked the clean rear tail lights. The car is respectful enough to even use for business, although 2-doors for business is a challenge. But people are getting bigger these days. I often pick clients up at the airport, and they pile in with thier laptops and overnight bags, so you need an adequate trunk. I was disappointed with my Chrysler 300. the back seat was too small for a long trip. Too small to sleep across the back seat at a truck stop. They need to make cars with real world dimensions, and I'm a slim guy.

Discntinuing the Ram would be a bad idea because the Ram is still sells very well and if GM and Chrysler merge that would mean they would have 2 strong footholds in the full size truck market

I just get the idea that the Truck capacity will be limited going forward. There will always be a need for pickups, for construction, towing, and moving things for large families, but most commuters can get by with a wagon. I think Ford will be the most likely Truck builder in the future, because they build very heavy duty designs.
