Spyker D12 Peking to Paris to enter production as a Porsche Cayenne rival
Porsche seems to be the leader in the sport SUV segment but these things are about the change from 2009! Spyker, the exclusivist Dutch car manufacturer announced that its D12 Peking to Paris, that was presented at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, will go into production as a direct rival to the Porsche Cayenne SUV. The new Spyker will be powered by the W12 engine from Volkswagen making the car capable to hi 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5 seconds while the top speed will be limited to 300 km/h (185 mph). The price of the new Spyker D12 will be around $300,000 or €235,000.

$300,000 for an SUV you can't put half your family in? What's the point. Cayenne is pretty expensive but it does have utility.
