2009 Renault Megane Coupe U.K. pricing announced
After much commendation for its athletic and aggressive styling at the Paris Motor Show last month, Renault has finally established UK pricing for its stylish new Megane Coupe series. Ordering starts early November, with prices starting from £14,745 ($23,713 or €18,600), ready for the stylish three-door to go nose-to-nose with rivals such as the Vauxhall Astra Sport Hatch and Vw Scirocco.

At start, three trim levels will be available: Expression, Dynamique and Privilège, with tags ranging from £14,745 ($23,713 or €18,600) to £19,195 ($30,867 or €24,224). Abiding with the impressive list of standard equipment on the five-door Hatch, the new Coupe has been intended to offer all of the comfort and practicality highlights to make everyday use as pleasurable and comfortable as possible.

But the base engine is a 1.4 or something, as opposed to the Scirocco's 2.0T. The comparable model will be only a bit less than the Scirocco.

True, but when the new Megane RS comes out... it will destroy anything in it's path.. if it is like the old Megane RS26.
Don't get me wrong, I love the GTi and the new Scirocco, but NO ONE does Hot Hatches like Renault Sport.

The Renaults are the most extreme of all the hot hatches - they make Type-R Hondas seem like shopping carts. If I was going to have a second car in that class, a Megane R26 would be my first port of call. Daily driver, no, but as a superb hot hatch, yes.
