The new (old) VW Microbus
The Love Bus is still alive. VW Brasil is shipping its ‘new’ Type 2 Kombis to Britain, where they’re lovingly turned into campervans and sent off to ramble around The Shires.

A strange regulatory quirk means the ancient Type 2 Kombi can still be imported into the UK as a new vehicle. These fresh-out-of-the-box campervans look like the originals from the 70s, but there’s a big difference at the back—VW has swapped the air-cooled motor for its new water-cooled 1.4 liter ‘Total Flex’ fuel-injected engine.

I love the concept! Have you all seen the crash test standards on you tube? You would be so dead in the old vans! I hope that this has improved. A little too expensive for dated teck.

I need one of these. But please, no airbags. I don't want to wake up in the hospital without my legs.

Still waiting on that 2001 concept...
