Honda Sales Nose Dive 28.4% In October, Acura Sales Wither 24.5%

American Honda Motor Co Inc posted October sales of 85,864, a decline of 28.0 percent based on the daily selling rate*, compared to record October 2007 results. American Honda year-to-date sales of 1,266,447 represent a 3.6 percent decrease.

Honda Division posted October sales of 75,756, a decline of 28.4 percent versus October 2007. The Fit achieved an October record of 6,478, up 28.1 percent in its second month available as a completely redesigned 2009 model.

The Acura Division posted sales of 10,108, a decrease of 24.5 percent compared to October 2007. The TL, with sales of 4,340, increased 22.2 percent in its first full month available as a completely redesigned 2009 model. Acura total car sales are up 2.0 percent.

*The daily selling rate (DSR) is calculated with 27 days for October 2008, versus 26 days for October 2007. Year-to-date, the DSR is calculated with 257 days for 2008, versus 256 days for 2007. All percentages reflect DSR.

Hey HSC there's more to a car buying decision than just looks, the TL has so much to like that you can't just pass over it because of the looks. Don't be shallow :-)

Blakura, looks aren't everything. Granted the TL's do come nicely optioned. However, they are still based on FWD platforms (ie nose heavy driving dynamics) and suffer from torque steer.

That's good news for me because I plan to get the TSX before the end of this year so I should be able get one close to invoice.....that plus possibly lower interest rate promotion it's good time to be a car buyer.

I guess that BMW,Audi/vw and MB sale is up.Yep they are moving a lot cars,people stand on line fighting
their way in their respective dealers.Most buyers come out with 2 or3 bms.yeah "rwd vehicles" are extremely good,driver are required to carry shovels in the trunk of their so when they get stuck,these fat cats would come out of the snow to make path...
