Toyota Tundra Diesel Dually Project Truck back again at SEMA

Tow rating at 22,000. lbs, wow! 8L engine! I guess if its something that you need there it is, not something that I would buy, only because I never need to tow anything that heavy.

An F-450 Ford can already pull 24,600lbs and I can go to my ford dealer and buy one right now.

Just shoehorn the Toyota 4.5 liter V8 twin-turbo diesel in the regular production Tundra and you've cornered the full sized pick-up market for sure.

I am not sure about that,the new Tundra was promising and when it got out the milage was poor.Futher more GM FORD and CHYSLER is not gone to sit by and loose sales they too are coming with more efficient diesel,So let the best truck win.

I thought they got the message that this country is not as receptive to their trucks as they would like us to be . With the flexi-flyer rating that they got with the bed bounce , snad cast aluminum differential housing, a less than suportive tail gate, I can hear the recalls coming already , what a hoot.

I concur! I wonder if the frame is much stronger than there half ton? Or as Toyota says that they engineered the frame to flex? I would rather my suspension do that job.lol

..... and another thing , Didn't anyone tell toytie that dually's are falling out of favor latley ? There is nowhere the amount of these types of vehicles around like there used to be . Ever try parking one of these things ? there is no parking satll designed for such a vehicle unless you are at a truck stop , stock yard , and the far reaches of a parking lot and, if the lot is full , you are SOL . For the very few times you would need a vehicle like this , you would be better off renting one or having someone haul whatever needs to be transported

the americans can do what the toyota can do with mid 6 liter engines, while toyota tries to outdo everyone by putting in a 8 liter six. honestly what kinda mileage would this get with 20k on the back, 5 mpg? Ford I know does better.

A proper (not some enlarged pickup) truck can get getter fuel economy than either. Semis get this type of fuel economy.

The 35,000 pound commercial that the engine comes from should be the truck doing pulling, not some overgrown pickup that people will go to the store to get some groceries.

And I doubt Toyota will every build this.

For the ones that think Ford, chevy, etc. are American made cars... Well, I hate to bust ur bubbles. Most of the cars we call American made, are not. Majority of the parts for these cars are made in mexico, japan, and other parts of the world. They maybe maufactured here but thats pretty much it. Toyota, Honda, etc well lets say u see more of these cars on the road that u do "american made cars". Oh yeah, recently on the news they was talking about Honda is probably the most American made car out there. Thank our goverment for this.
