World's Largest Lamborghini Dealership Closes Unexpectedly

World's Largest Lamborghini Dealership Closes Unexpectedly
The world's largest Lamborghini dealer, Lamborghini Orange County, has closed and owners aren't saying why.

"I can't talk about anything," said Vik Keuylian, owner of the Santa Ana-based dealership.

Keuylian previously said he sold about 10 percent of all 2,400 Lamborghinis made in the world each year. Lamborghini announced plans to move its North American headquarters to Santa Monica, in part, to be close to its largest dealership.

The largest volume Lambo dealer in the US has been Prestige Imports in Miami, FL. Dunno about the world though :)

yes, I believe in the world as well. I was lucky enough to work there, on the Audi side though....rows & rows of Lambos

I heard this on the news today...or was it yesterday x]
I was pretty confused when I heard about Lamborghini on the news station, to be honest.

This dealer has sold 10% of all Lambo sales (as mentioned above). That's pretty good compared to the number of Middle Eastern customers they have over there. The radio also said that this is where Kobe bought his Lambo for his wife, specially ordered with an automatic (good choice, IMO ;)

I wonder where Shaq got his specially stretched Gallardo...heard that it didn't even looked as if it was stretched at all.

There is a dealer right up the road in Greenwhich, if anyone needs one... Doubt it, in this economy.. Also right over the bridge on Long Island..

No surprise that ANY car dealerships are closing. Here in Hawaii Mercedes/Land Rover/Jaguar had some deep cuts in Staff. Major downsizing.

Something fishy... I'm guessing floor plan fraud

That certainly seems plausible.

The phrase "poor management" uttered by the Lambo exec combined with the owner being quoted as saying "other dealers aren't buying so we're buying them and selling them for a profit" leads me to believe they had a lot of distressed used inventory.

If you overestimated the value of 5 or 6 lambos by 10%, you'd loose around $150k. Most dealers (who are usually quite small) would have to close their doors is they had $150k in "water" on their lot. I'm guessing that Lambo of Orange had a lot more money than most dealers, but they also stocked a lot more than 5 or 6 used. I'm guessing a huge negative equity situation on the used car lot combined with a cash-flow crunch (all these expensive parties and new showrooms) caused their demise.
