Confirmed: Audi's TT RS To Showcase 335 HP/28 MPG Turbo 5 Cylinder

The news emerged after a letter intended to go to German Audi dealerships, confirming details about the hottest-ever TT, was leaked. In the document, it is confirmed that the RS will be powered by an all-new 2.5-litre super and turbocharged TFSI engine, with 335bhp and 450Nm of torque.

As a result, 0-60mph will take only 4.5 seconds, while top speed is limited to 155mph. And the TT RS will not only be extremely rapid, it will be economical, too, returning 28mpg.

Audi is finally producing some decent high output engines that can finally compete with BMW. This car sounds hot!

Don't know where you've been, but Audi has been producing high output engines for decades.

...but they really have not competed with those of BMW, Heyhuub, always leaving the feeling of needing a little more.

Well, did BMW have a 300+hp engine in 1984? Because Audi sure had.

Why cant Audi add power like that to the A4 line?

umm.. thsi is the RS TT.. the RS A4 has had 420 hp for while now.. i dont know wher eyouve been.

The RS4 is an RS4. Not an A4.

I'm talking about the A4. You know the car that has an "A4" badge on it? The car you are talking about has an "RS4" badge on it. Saying that the A4 has 420hp because the RS4 has that amount of HP is just plain wrong. You might as well be saying that "the 3-series have 414 hp engines". That wouldn't be true. Its the M3 that has 414hp not the STANDARD 3-series.

well... your referencing the power in the RSTT. just pointing out that that is a high performance variant of the TT line. You made it seem as though the 335hp 5 is "regular" engine for the "regular" TT and hsould be a regular enigine for the regular A4.

anyway, i would consider the RS4 to be part of the A4 line.

If you stated the "STANDARDA4", then there would be no discrepency. but you didnt. And in fact, the 3 series does have a 414 hp engine... in teh M3, which is technically a 3 series.

stop pwning yourself noob. contradictions in your statements. Next time relax and clear up teh situation in a mature matter, instead of immaturely starting an argument.
BTW, lexus does not suck. I dont even understand the whole "Lexus sucks" thing in this website. Its so corny and played out. You prolly ont even own a car....

StepYaGameUp,

I thought my grammar and spelling was bad. You seem to take it to another level. Word of advice; Use a spell checker or go back to school. When you attack someone you have to make sure than your "game" is tight.

And how do you know what I’ll "prolly ont even own"? You grammar and spelling suggests that you are the one that "prolly ont even own" one? ROTFLMFAO.

Who’s been PWNED?

Next time just make your point instead of trying to attack someone. If you did that I wouldn't have had anything to say

LexSucks, what you said really didn't make sense. This is an RS version of the TT. The RS version of the A4 has 420hp and the new generation will probably have the same amount, but using a smaller, more efficient engine.

Mostly good news. Just 2 issues:
#1: 45k GBP is US$70k
#2: The normal TT looks gorgeous, but this one looks Billy Idol sneering out of both sides of his mouth at once ... may as well add a huge wing on the back, and some blue neon underneath, and a muffler the size of a coffee can, and ...

BTW: You have to link to the article to get a picture of the TT RS (not the pretty TT in the photo on this page)

Please please please don't just convert the currency to get a US price...it doesn't work like that! A regular TT starts at over $50k dollars in Britain...but does it cost that in the US? No!!

My question is why isn't this the S4 engine? Why have two engines producing basically the same power? Doesn't that complicate things a little? THis seems like a perfect S4 powerplant to me.

I just realized that too, I have no idea. I guess this is a sports car, while they wanted the S4 to be more refined... a six-cylinder is more refined than a five-cylinder.

Moron.

The TTrs is faster (4.5 sec to 60 vs. 5) has significantly more torque, returns dramatically better fuel economy, and has a rear-biased AWD system.

Gets smoked how, idiot? I'm sure you'll come back with either:

Well the Z4 is a few years old, the new one will smoke it

or

I make waaayyyyy more money than anyone ever

You fail. Again. Give up hope, loser.

The TT-S is already as quick as the M Coupé and Cayman S, so this should be up there with the Carrera S and dangerously close to the R8.

The TT-S already keeps up with the Z4 M on a track. The TT-RS will leave it in the dust.

"comon.. .a RS model with only 335HP>??"

Yup, because it still goes from 0-60 in a little over 4 seconds, while getting almost 30MPG.
