Audi is finally producing some decent high output engines that can finally compete with BMW. This car sounds hot!

Don't know where you've been, but Audi has been producing high output engines for decades.

...but they really have not competed with those of BMW, Heyhuub, always leaving the feeling of needing a little more.

Saying that the A4 has 420hp because the RS4 has that amount of HP is just plain wrong. You might as well be saying that "the 3-series have 414 hp engines". That wouldn't be true. Its the M3 that has 414hp not the STANDARD 3-series.

well... your referencing the power in the RSTT. just pointing out that that is a high performance variant of the TT line. You made it seem as though the 335hp 5 is "regular" engine for the "regular" TT and hsould be a regular enigine for the regular A4.

If you stated the "STANDARDA4", then there would be no discrepency. but you didnt. And in fact, the 3 series does have a 414 hp engine... in teh M3, which is technically a 3 series.

LexSucks, what you said really didn't make sense. This is an RS version of the TT. The RS version of the A4 has 420hp and the new generation will probably have the same amount, but using a smaller, more efficient engine.

Mostly good news. Just 2 issues:
#1: 45k GBP is US$70k
#2: The normal TT looks gorgeous, but this one looks Billy Idol sneering out of both sides of his mouth at once ... may as well add a huge wing on the back, and some blue neon underneath, and a muffler the size of a coffee can, and ...

Please please please don't just convert the currency to get a US price...it doesn't work like that! A regular TT starts at over $50k dollars in Britain...but does it cost that in the US? No!!

My question is why isn't this the S4 engine? Why have two engines producing basically the same power? Doesn't that complicate things a little? THis seems like a perfect S4 powerplant to me.

The TT-S is already as quick as the M Coupé and Cayman S, so this should be up there with the Carrera S and dangerously close to the R8.

The TT-S already keeps up with the Z4 M on a track. The TT-RS will leave it in the dust.
