Toyota Tacoma V8 Incross Concept comes to SEMA

The Tacoma V8 Incross Concept vehicle incorporates many new design components and a special color theme with V8 power to generate an exciting new appearance with more passenger space, utility and performance capabilities.

The initial use of Toyota’s 4.7-liter, i-Force V8 engine in a Tacoma offers plenty of motivation for the Incross.

The V8 generates 271 horsepower and 313 lb/ft of torque. It is outfitted with TRD (Toyota Racing Development) headers and custom dual exhaust by Tube Solutions.

The 5.7 is larger physically and likely wouldn't have fit.

33 extra hp and 47 extra foot pounds of torque, I am not jumping up and down, although this is a more reliable engine than the v6 and would be worth the mileage drop.I hope that it is available in a standard. I would be more exited to see a solid axle or a baja style independent suspension set up with 15 + inches of wheel travel instead of the standard eight.It is supposed to be a truck!This is also the only mini truck with a good side impact rating.

agree, the extra power seems underwhelming. how do you figure that this is a more reliable engine than the V6?

you can do better getting the TRD supercharger on the V6

vdiv-I recall consumer reports a few years back suggesting anyone thinking of buying the Four Runner to choose the v-8 because the v-6 had some issues, I can't remember what they were, but if it's Toyota and they are saying that, it must be bad!
