Mercedes will kill CLK, working on E-Class based Audi A5 rival

Ok, No CLK, Return of E-Class Coupe (Applaud Mercedes)... i guess the price for this (ECoupe) will go up, i remember the Old E-Class Coupes, they were Hot & Cost alot too...

I owned a first-generation Mercedes CLK. I loved its looks, and it was a great car - when it wasn't malfunctioning! The engine, transmission, and other major components were fine, but minor electrical glitches drove me nuts! I spent so much time in the Mercedes-Benz dealer's service department that I knew the name of everyone who worked there! I also got to know the service manager and the owner pretty well!

After five years of ownership (and the warranty had expired), I had decided to get another car. I looked at the second-generation (i.e., current) CLK, and was disappointed. I didn't like its looks at all, and Daimler had reduced the interior's legroom and shoulder room from the old car. This was the straw that broke the camel's back - I didn't buy another CLK, nor did I buy another Mercedes. I am now driving an Audi.

I hope that Mercedes does a better job with this new E-based coupe. I also hope that they have fixed their electrical problems.

Audi's have had their fare share of electrical problems too you know. If you're driving an A4 the interiors pretty tight as well. The new one is fine though.

Actually, Mercedes killed the CLK when they turned the second-generation model into a chick car.
Now we're getting an E-Class coupe. What will this one be called -- the ELK? Will it be fast but plodding and methodical, like the animal? Will it come with horns, like the animal?

Be careful calling the second gen CLK a chick car (even though it is) because Tauron is going to go nuts on you because his CLK500 cabrio is so manly (in his opinion).

Funny Center Console...I see you have jokes today. I'm not too worried about it. You probably can't afford one anyway. My car is more than manly enough for me, its got a big V8 and moves when I want it too. If I don't get the new E Convertible I think I might just break down and spring for a 911 Cabrio this time.

Okay, not all iterations are chick cars. The Black Series is as manly as they come. But a CLK V-6 -- might as well put on a pair of heels to drive that. Tauron, I'll give you the man-factor of the V8, but you have to admit that the first gen CLK was much more masculine than the second gen.

I admit and I had two of the 1st gen cars. I had to CLK 320 cabs the second was triple black and very manly. My current one is a silver V8 with a black top and with the AMG wheels, pipes and kit its a masculine car.

I think the clk black series was a cool car.

BMW competes with Hyundai. Wonder what Hyundai has up it's sleeve for BMW...because BMW clearly cannot keep up with Audi or Mercedes.

well they used to make the eclass coupe back in the early 90's so nothing is different just a new year and different design
