2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe - First Ride. Not Drive, Just Ride.

Hyundai PR Manager Miles Johnson wanted to make it clear so he didn’t get in trouble with big chief in Korea; we didn’t drive the yet-to-be-released 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, we simply rode shotgun. But shotgun was still good enough to get a feel for what some in the automotive press are calling the next “Mustang killer”. We’re not quite sure why it’s receiving that moniker, because after our jaunt in the Genesis Coupe, it’s clear that this car has almost nothing in common with the Mustang besides it’s attractive projected MSRP of $23,000-$29,000.

You have the mindset of many Americans who were skeptical of Lexus when they first started. Hell, Infiniti and Acura are still going through that stage when being compared to a Lexus.

I assume you haven't been inside one of the Genesis sedans? The interior may be different but Hyundai's vision is the same. The brand image is what you make of it. Those who are open minded will find many surprises with Korean brand. In other aspects of business, Samsung has dominated many markets that have naturally been owned by Japanese companies. It doesn't mean they can't do it with vehicles.

Dont try to reason with close-minded idiots like this one. Those of us who can look beyond a badge can see a promising coupe built for enthusiasts, a group that honyota dont give a damn about obviously.

At least Hyundai is TRYING to move up the ladder by putting some actual engineering and effort into their cars, unlike the big-two japs, who survive on name only, with mediocre-at-best vehicles.
