2008 Tundra vs 2009 Dodge Ram - Comparing the new Ram to Toyota's Tundra

How are we supposed to believe this when the comparison is done by tundraheadquarters! Everybody I know that needs a work truck stays away from toyota because of their poor quality and the engineering and design is not focused to the needs of people who need a real work truck. This is why Chrysler makes the better truck here. You can't use simple auto magazine comparison metrics to compare work trucks!

I have yet to drive the new Ram so I can't say too much about it other than what the specs show.
But you cannot say the Tundra displays poor quality. FAR FROM IT!!!
That is the one area where it is easy to say the Tundra WILL and does beat out its competitors. In part why the big 3 are almost out of business.
And as for the specs, I can already see the Ram doesn't tow as much and has slower 0-60 times. Tundra has 4 piston brake calipers. What does the Ram have? Or the new F-150 for that matter?

This "comparison" is highly suspect. There's no objectivity in this. I mean, let's go over to a Dodge Ram site and get the alternate ratings?

And to answer the above, The Tundra's interior is shockingly un-Toyota like. The dash design is ugly and the surfaces are hard and cheesy. The Tundra may have been a competitive truck 2 years ago but I wouldn't count on it to beat either of the newest trucks out of Detroit.

222Max - Did you read the full comparison? We found the Ram's interior to be substantially better than the Tundra's.

toyfan you're a douche. just cuz it's a toyota doesnt mean its got good quality interior. it's embarrassing!!! toyota and nissan have been known to cut corners while honda has been sticking away from that. the prius is built with no quality in mind. cheap plastics have plagued japanese cars for years.

Actually considering Chrysler's immenent demise .. I would say that Dodge has already f**ked itself .

politically, GM will probably get baileed out as Chrysler will have to take a shit ...

As far as the trucks go .. Toyota all the way. Big step over Dodge . Though the new F-150 is simply the best !!!!!!!

Personally, the more I see Toyota's Tundra on the streets, the more unattractive the design/concept becomes.

Everything about it screams - Trying To Hard To Look Tough

It's bulky, bulbous, brash and brutish to the Nth degree, and though I understand that there will be those who consider the aforementioned attributes, I happen NOT to be one of them.

The new Dodge is classy, refined, polished and intelligent in its design/execution, and also seems much better suited to today's full-sized truck buyer.

That's an interesting point. I wonder how many truck buyers share your desire for a classy, refined, and polished truck. It's not an exaggeration to say the future of the Ram product line is at stake with this truck. For the sake of competition, let's hope that at least some truck buyers decide polish and refinement is more important than utility (and a much lower price).

The dodge is better than the toyota but two best trucks anyone can get is the silverado and especially the new f-150

The Dodges brakes suck! Although it has an efficient engine and a good frame, the Toyota's frame is just too flexy to even concider,although a great engine and incredible brakes! There is no truck out there that is even close to the quality/performance in brakes as Toyota! I would buy the F-150 any day!

sadly yes I do drive a civic,don't rub it in.lol I am eventually going to buy another truck, just nothing brand new.
