A competitor to the Porsche Cayman being readied?

based on success of the convertable versions of the cars

boxster: hot seller, no reason coupe version will be much different

BMW z4: most interest has been lost, I don't think adding a solid roof will help

The current Z4 is a flop compared to the boxster. Why would it do better as a coup? The Cayman will outperform a 911, especially if it gets more power. The Z4 can't get out of its own way. It has lost every industry road test to the boxster.

as far as cayman is concerned i don't think it's worth challenging.It is a very unusual car or a hardtop boxter,which is very very expensive to it's size, more expensive than it's cabrio version(boxter)too.

All it's competitors are much better than this thing also for less value.eg MB SLK 350,BMW Z4 3.0,Audi TT V6,etc.

I think this car will not work and if it,i think that will be the stupidest person on earth to give more $$$$ and take boxter Coupe.

An M4 would be a welcome automobile from BMW, but it's extremely doubtful that a front-engine car will ever handle as well as the better-balanced mid-engine car. By virtue of a better powertrain layout, the Porsche will also be the lighter car, too. The only way BMW would be able to compete would be to appeal to the luxury audience and hire designers who can fix the disgusting Banglified sh!t that Munich has been producing for the last several years.

Great handling cars, BMWs are. But they are now the amongst the ugliest vehicles around. Putting a hardtop on the Z4 would improve it, but a whole new body would be a better step.
