Jaguar and Land Rover Ask British Government For Assistance

What the hey! Isn't this sort of like blackmailing the UK gov. If no bailout, face massive unemployment.

It's the workers of the UK that will suffer, that's why the british government should care about it.

You do realise that without these "G20 countries" "1st world" countries wont exist because they wont have resources and everything will be 10 times more expensive?

They need to send all their employees to the service departments worldwide. That is where these cars spend their whole life.

my only issue with this is that these 2 were doing poorly during the tiem that everyone else was doing well. So for them it isnt simply the economy is bad, they have been falling apart for years, with poor sales.

Do not blame them, they were owned by Ford during the good days.
It was not really JLR's fault, but to be frank BMW kind of raped them too.
What I cannot comprehend is that Tata kept all the Ford guys in key position when Ford Managers were the ones who ran the company in the ground.

Well if you use that logic, then the German government might have to step in and save BMW at the rate BMW is going right now.

lol i guess saying that was suppose to be an attack on me since it had BMW in it....grow up......moving on, the fact is Jaguar was way worse off without Ford, Ford gave them new capital produce new cars, and new lines, not to mention Jaguar cars had a huge improvement in quality and reliability under Ford ownership....the big issue was they were unsure on had to add new models,and to the cautious route by sticking to Jaguar's past to produce vehicles. Land Rover was aided by BMW, the new Range Rover based on teh X5 helped them immensely lets not forget that, and to put BMW in perspective,while Jaguar was failing they were still one of teh best selling makes here, and they have the title for best sellerin how many categories currently...so trash BMW if you want, but Jaguar and Land Rover, has been a sinking ship for decades

The Range Rover and X5 share no architecture other than a Nav system.
