Honda working on Accord based crossover to rival Toyota Venza

What you’re looking at are the first spy shots of a an Accord-based Crossover that Honda is working on as a rival to the new Toyota Venza. Insiders say the crossover is based on the European-only Accord Tourer wagon but will be heavily influenced by the U.S. market Accord’s design.

Power for the crossover could from the same 2.4L 4-cylinder and the 3.5L V6 from the current Accord along with Honda’s VTM-4 all-wheel-drive system.

What’s surprising to us is that the prototype is hardly wearing any camouflage...

Pilot competes with Highlander and other SUVs, this one competes with Venza and other "crossovers." :)

The Toyota only has five seats! Why not a third row? It's big for a 5 seater.

Looks like a competitor to the Outback. The Outback is a wagon. This begs the question, is the term "crossover" anything more than a marketing gimmick?
