It's official-New BMW 650 announced

Euphoria. With a view.

Merging the refined style and fiery spirit of the legendary 6 Coupe with the open-air freedom of a convertible, the stunning 6 Series Convertible seizes the imagination as boldly as it captures the eye. A muscular 4.8-liter V-8 power plant delivers 360 horsepower and a riveting 5.6-second launch to 60 mph*. A choice of three 6-Speed transmissions and BMW’s Active Roll Stabilization (ARS) ensure dynamic performance and level cornering on even the tightest curves. With the top up, the convertible roof gracefully mirrors the pleasing proportions and aggressive lines of the Coupe. With a push of the button, the top comes down for the most rewarding and exuberant drive under the stars. The 6 Series Convertible. A new perspective on pleasure.

BMW AG test results for 650i with Manual or SMG transmission. Actual acceleration results may vary, depending on specification of vehicle; road and environmental conditions; testing procedures and driving style. These results should be used for comparison only and verification should not be attempted on public roads. BMW urges you to obey all posted speed laws and always wear safety belts.

The word "stunning" does not come to mind when thinking of the 6 series. And the coupe is definitely the better executed variant, where as the rag-top looks like an awkward afterthought. The 6 inch slot of a rear window is a poor excuse for light, and virtually useless for rear visibility.

Boring from the outside. Cheap on the inside. A disappointment, except for the drive.

The reason why BMW is increasing it Horse power for the 6 serie is because fear of competition from the New 2007 Lexus GS 450 hybrid which will come out in 340-350 horse power range.

They need to improve their interior Big time, all they have inside is Cheap Plastic on inside. Mean look at the Lexus and Audi interior.

I would buy the GS Lexus 450 Hybrid any day because I'm getting what I'm paying for.

Is it ok If I call U rubby duck duck! I have test drive the 6 serie I like the engine wise, but interior like I said it cheap plastic and alot people would agree with me.

And if Bmw is doing such a good job, not, why the heck is Lexus/toyota is the Taking the Automobile industry.

Farther more Lexus has spend alot money investing in making more sporty car, just give it another 5 year so before they will take over the Bmw title like they did with american car.

Rub duck No you get it Right Buddy

Hi! Augie, thank, like wise. I'm just saying from my experience in driving in one of those car. It all opinion here, there is nothing I could say here to change anyone mind of what they think which car is the best or they like and I'm Not trying to do that. Me personally I like all car but I do have a certain favorite one I like to drive.

If anyone want to talk About Power/Lexury and Performance test drive the DB9 Aston Martin or Vanquish S, now that an AweSome piece of machine.

What do you guys/girls in here think of the new 2006 CLS500/55?

Al,I definetly agree that the 645 has really nice ride But the interior difinetly need improvement, even the the lowest, brand of Lexus like the ES 330 interior look better then the beam.

For you BMW lover, I'm talking interior here Not performance but give it another 5 years all so but Lexus will come out more sporty and high performance vechicle. They are in the process of making the 2007 IS460 with 450-500 Horse Power.

Al, I think the New CLS is a Really nice Ride, but I have to agree with Augie that it more like a chick car, but I might be wrong.

Augie, yes I definetly agree with what you said about the interior in the GS 430 is similar to the Camry because toyota/Lexus are the same company, just like Nissan/Infiniti. All Lexus is a more Lexury Toyota. The 2005 Lexus ES 330 and 2005 camry use the same engine, and platform. All they did change the body a bit here and there.

Augie,Al have any of you see the 2006 Aston Martin Vantage? and the DB9? all I say it awesome, one of my close friend has a friend who own a 2004 Aston Martin DB9 man that thing is absolutely mad..., when he took it to the freeway and test that piece of machine, the speed and power, and performance is absolutely unbelievable.

Augie, yes I must agree with you that the 6 serie definetly the number 4 coupe out for it styling and performance I must rate performance and styling for the 645/650 coupe 9 Out of 10 because I took a point for their interior. Lexus performance is more of a lexury car not performance, at least for now. I would probably rate the new GS430 8 Out 10 because of it smooth accelaration, smooth ride and the Interior is REAlly nice in IMO, one of the best out their in the market in that class.

With the BMW 645/650, if there is only one Reason why I would NOT Buy the 6 serie is the interior design they need to improve it because it does not look a $70-80 Grand vechicle when you look at the interior.

Lexus

what everyone here think of the new 2007 XK from Jaguar?

Test drove the 550i this weekend with a manual trans and all I have to say is----screw the M5. Bought It

This thing is wicked wicked fast. Dealer said 0-60 in 5 flat.

Sure felt that fast.

Last 545i did 0-60 in 5.5-5.7 i believe.

Why pay 40 grand extra for a couple tenths of a second.

Not to mention no waiting lists, dealer mark-ups and a real manual trans.

I get my white beauty in 6 weeks.

I saw the new 2007 Mercedes CLE on another website and it from a 1.8 liter which pump out only 170 Horse power and a supercharge 5.5 liter V8 with 390 hp. I don't know what you think but to me If I was to spend $80,000 for a dawn car, that thing better Pump out 400 Horse Power. I know the Potiac GTO pump out 400 Horse power and it Under $80,000, the cadillac CTS-V also has 400 HP and it under $80 grand.

I mean why would you spend $80,000 for a mercedes CLE for only 170 power. What do you guys think? $80,000 got to aleast give you 350 Horse power under the hood.

Hi ! Augie, there is a misunderstanding, yes I'm a Lexus For life fan. And yes I know that the Potiact and cadillac does Not have the best interior out there. All I'm trying to said is if You were going to buy a car for $80,000 I just think it Wrong to paid that much for a car that only has 170 horse power. I'm talking about performance on this subject not interior but I do agree with you that performance and interior design should go hand in hand like the new Lexus IS350 and GS450 Hybrid.

Like I said several post earlier I like all type of car and I do have favorite one I like to drive and they are Aston Martin rank # 1 on my list for performance and for Pure Lexury and smooth ride is the GS430.

Hey Augie, I'm telling I'm a Lexus For Life Fan.......and that is why I going to buy the GS450 instead of BMW650.

And the topic here in this post is about how much you should get from underhood your hood for $80 grand.

If you were to Talk Lexury, Lexus, in my IMO is the reign king of Lexury without a doubt But...just give it another 5 years or so before they will be top 5 on the performance list. ( So I think 8-10 years from now, Lexus will reign King of Lexury and performance) if they keep heading toward the direction they are going right now.
