NY Times Calls Honda FC Sport Concept Grotesque- Did They See The Same Car As I Did?
Quantum of Grotesque-Every angle is worse than the last.

That is the NY Times Tori Tellem description of the Honda FC Sport Concept that was show at the LA Auto Show.

When I see reviews like this, it just reinforces that the current mainstream automotive press could be one of the MAIN reasons Detroit is failing.

They couldn't pick a winner if their lives depended on it.

I personally thought that the FC Concept design was the most promising thing to come out of Honda/Acura since the original NSX.

And after seeing the hideous beaks on the new Acura's, I actually have hope that there is still someone working for them, who has the potential to design a future classic and something that would be outstanding.

The FC Sport has future sports car design model direction written all over it.

It also has a uniqueness that separates Honda from the pack and instantly lets you know it's their product.

And to me it screams YOUTH, energy, power, testosterone and sex appeal.

So who is right?

Agent 001 or Tori Tellum everything wrong?

I agree as well. Good design but not for everyone. The Times like but holes, has an opinion as well like everyone else. Doesn't make mean its substantial.

Sorry, doesn't mean it's substantial is what I meant to say. See a retraction, something the Times hasn't done right in years.

Yes they do but it seems everything they pick turns out being wrong.

"Yes they do but it seems everything they pick turns out being wrong"
And who the heck are you exactly to say what's wrong or not?

The car is hideous, even for a futuristic concept it's ugly, the front is a freaking box.

NSX is the SR-71 Blackbird, this is the now-defunct stealth F-117 Nighthawk. Let's just say the F-117 isn't a big museum draw.

Sorry, and kudos to your analogy, but I'd have to say the SR-71 and the F-117 would both be sights to behold.

I wouldn't call it beautiful, but I certainly wouldn't go so far as calling it grotesque either. I find it reminiscent of the Ford GT90.....

001 is right, this thing is cool. And it's a concept, it's supposed to be different.

The NY times lost their credibility a while back.

Exactly, that is why their subscription is down and has been losing consistantly for a while. I feel the same for L.A Times, no credibility, period.

Front and side are great. Rear end = fugly. Fix that and you have a great car. I would buy one.

They hit it right on the head that car is nasty, ugly as sin!!! Look to the Toyota HT-FS, now that's a beautiful concept!!!

Not pretty to my eyes. Looks like a kit-car gone sour.

As other posters have said:

Front looks like a thong.

Rear looks like a sphincter.

Oh, and 001? If you want to be taken more seriously, you should take some courses in language and writing.

Hey, if you also want to be taken seriously, replace your Hyundai :)

I've never seen such a huge copycat company.

The NYTimes is hardly a news source to be taken seriously anymore. Unless they get a bailout they too will be out of business soon.
