Its a damn fine piece, but not a 550i with a manual trans.

I agree Jo- I really disliked the new 5 when it was released.

But the car grew on me so much that I had to get one.

The 550i will blow any of its competition away.(GS430,M45,4.2 A6, E500, you name it.)

I cant wait any longer.

Come on, everyone think that the new 550 is going to beat anyone in it class. It will be lucky just to be where it is. The new GS450 is coming in 2007 with over 300 power, somewhere in 340-350 range so unless the the new.

Come on seriously you are going to tell this 550 with probably 270-280 hp range is going to beat the GS450 with 340-350 range, yeah right....LOL...:).

It will be lucky if it beat the M45, Audi A6, or Cadillac CTS, STS. This year the nes king is coming so watch out, Lexus GS450.

For the design I think it the Ugliest car that BMW ever made. The looking car that BMW has is 6series, 3 Series, now that a car with nice Exterior. But I would choose a GS450 with More than 300+ plus Horse Power for the same price.

First off, you state the 550i has 270-280 hp.

TRY 360 HP. Very far ahead of the Lexus's FUTURE engine.

Second, the car runs to 60 under 5 seconds.

The Lexus will not do that. And if so, it wont feel like anything special doing it.

And since you know nothing about the cars you list I will help.

The Audi A6 4.2- SLOW- 0-60 in 6.4 seconds.
The Infiniti M45- Slower than the beemer- 0-60 in 5.7 seconds.
The Cadillac's- Are you Stupid? Not even close. At all.

And this GS Lexus. The car that drives itself. I would never buy a car that had so many annoying electronics involved preventing the driver from actually driving the car. This has been a MAJOR downfall on the new GS. Takes the edge off the whole car.

So before you write a follow up to a post---get your facts straight.

The BMW 550i is currently the performance king in mid-lux sedans. Even beating your future GS in power ratings. Not to mention the 550i is actually fun to drive and is wicked fast.

Everyone here know that the car has to be in the Market and road tested before you can compare to other car. How are you going to compare a car that has NOT been on the Market or road tested to another that has been? so get your fact and result straight conticroane before start asking other if they are stupid? ok

Secondly, I have Nothing against BMW. I really like the 6 series coupe but I did NOt BUY it because I thought the Interior need MOre Improvement and that is why I chose the GS430 instead. Like said before in my other previous post I like all car, and I said again. Right now Lexus has the best Interior designing like it or Not but their performance is getting way better than their older model. The New GS/IS has a much better chance of competing against other cars in it class BUT........to the King of performance Like BMW and MERCEdes they have to Prove it with their NEW GS/IS/LS. Just give it another 5 years or so and I belief they will take the crown away from the King but I might be wrong and It just all opinion here. 5-10 the King could be anyone this company, Mercedes,Audi, Lexus, BMW who know.

If the 550 getting to 360 HP, than I must agree the GS won't Stand a chance but the IS460 will because it has 450 horse power.

I thought the only car in BMW that is getting up 360 horse power is the 650 Series? why would a the company make the 550 has the same hp as 650?

Cronticroane, you are so Way off...pal with the 550i, I just read the reveal on it at the Frankfurt autoshow reveal, it getting a boost of 35 horse power,so the current model is at 255 hp plus 35 hp I belief it all add up to 290 Not 360 , the only one in bmw that is upgrade to 360 Horse power is the 650i, get your fact straight...it obvious now that you Don't know what you are talking about.

Hey,123, if the 550 has 325 with the current model because I thought it only had 255 horse power that is what I find on other website. If it has 325 and now 550i has 360 than it "my Bad", I Did Not know that the current model has 325 HP.

I have a question why would the BMW 550i is up the 360 which is the same as the 654i/650 Coupe ? I mean if they boost the 550i to 360 HP why Not boost the 650 coupe to 380-400 range ? because I read that the 650 coupe is getting 360 horse too. I really like the 645 coupe but I did not like the interior, power and performance wise I like it better than the GS430. But I like the GS430 more because it has a more Lexury interior and it got power too, power and performance.

Since, the 550i and 650i is up to 360 horse than the new 2007 GS450 better up their Horse Power in 60 Horse or more to have a chance of compete with BMW or any other cars it class.

Lexus, Audi, Acura, Honda, is the leading leader in sales in the auto industry in America. Why? because their car has more than performance that had quality, and they last forever. Stop crying like an idiot Moron, every car has it Pro and Con. Lexus has the best Lexury out there in it class, But they need to improve on their performance to compete against BMW. Lexus is spending alot of money to built better performance vechicle like it or Not, soon or later it will surpass other car in it class, BMW,MB what ever it maybe.

The only BMW out that nice and has performance is the 3 serie and 6 series. Just give it another 5-10 years before another company like MB, Lexus, or even audi will take the crown away from them.

Audis usually do fairly bad come trade in time.

Also agree that the MB E550 will be very quick.
