Jaguar and Land Rover in Big Trouble as Tata on the Bubble

The slowdown in the car market hurts Tata Motors's business particularly hard as it lacks the brand to compete effectively,'' Govindarajan Chellappa, a Mumbai-based analyst at Credit Suisse, wrote in a note dated yesterday. ``Jaguar and Land Rover will also likely face severe demand contraction over the next year due to negative wealth effect.''

The automaker yesterday turned to the public to raise loans for the first time in 13 years as the credit crunch limits its ability to refinance $3 billion of bridge loans taken to buy Jaguar and Land Rover.

You meant Terrorist.

I was at the Taj Hotel a month ago and thankfully I wasn't there during these attacks. A member of my staff was there and they were running for their lives with their 3 year old child. As they were walking out of the lobby they had no shoes on, just bare feet, stepping on pools of blood.

Tragedy.

M35 I am able to tell you that year to date Jaguar has sold 303 fewer cars in NA than last year less than a 2% decline. can't tell you my source but Jaguar is doing a lot better than anyone else in the market at holding onto sales.

your an idiot. Number 5 in Initial quality this year number 8 in long term dependability. Sales are still strong for a niche brand. have not lost sales year over year. who else can say that. also you don't see a lot of them because thats the freaking point. Its a niche brand that goes for higher margins like Porsche and it will do fine. This year Jag will sell around 70k cars for the world vs. 60K for last year how is that bad. Their goal is 100-120 k in sales. Thats all Porsche sells and they are the most profitable car company per unit in the world.

Ok then from Moron to idiot. Lets talk facts not subjective opinion from someone that has no clue what he is talking about. If you are true to your name in search of truth. As any question you want or spin me a yarn to validate your rather simple statement based on nothing!

supporting truthpursuit, yeah jaguar sold ONLY 300 cars less than last year but all they sold last year were 315 cars...:P
"Number 5 in Initial quality this year number 8 in long term dependability." well as far as i can remember 5th and 8th places are not too good for such a car company... it may be suitable for Kia or Citroen:P ciao!
