Ford F-150 production goes up as the fuel prices drop
Fuel prices seem to dictate the sales of pickup trucks which rise and fall with it. For example, the Ford F-150, which is newly-redesigned, is currently selling good enough that Ford has put in an extra production shift at its Kansas City, MO assembly plant together with approval for set overtime. The Dearborn assembly plant is also going to receive a planned extra shift. After a successful product launch, carmakers really don’t mind dealing with these kinds of “problems.” It seems that American customers have a very short memory as pointed out by the increase in sales.

People need to face facts that Americans prefer in large part, vehicles like the F-150 over widgets like a Prius.

Some People need trucks! I want a truck for my second car, defiantly a few years old and cheaper so that I can modify it so it is capable of going off road.

Exactly,

Morons in Congress/Media (Micheal "I'm ignorant" Moore) think that trucks are Judas/Satan rolled into a steel Chassis with V8. People forget, contractors, plumbers, electricians, utilities, concrete pourers, loggers, farmers, etc NEED pickups. People who have boats, horses, car trailers NEED pickups.

We all need to stop pointing fingers at trucks and SUVS and start pointing fingers at ourselves for buying big, thirsty vehicles when we dont need them. We need NOT point fingers at those people who actually use trucks for what they are meant for.

I'll say it again.... Show me the Mafia gangster who GM/Ford/Dodge hired to force people to buy big SUVs/Trucks, and I'll go buy a Toyota Camry. Hell, show me the mafia gangster who forced people to buy Toyota Sequoias, Nissan Armadas, Lexus LX470's, Infiniti QX56's, MB G500's, BMW X5's and I'll go out and buy a Toyota Prius.

Good for Ford (even though I don't like Ford very much). Don't take the liberal bullsh*t.

F-150 shoppers were just waiting for the new model to arrive. It will be interesting to see what happens in a few months, when pent up demand of the new model stabilizes.

Production is up for the brand new 2009 Ford F-150.

It has nothing to do with gas prices.
