It's one thing to turn a two-seat sports car into a 13-second quarter miler, but quite another to pull off the same feat with a two-ton-plus aerodynamic brick of an SUV. That doesn't mean it hasn't been done, of course. The horsepower-crazed engineers at Mercedes' AMG tuning house are especially adept at it. So when you're living life a quarter mile at a time getting the kids to the soccer game or making it to Home Depot, there are some options out there, most with fire-breathing V-8s. Apparently they never tested the 2004-2008 Forester XT. Car & Driver got 0-60 in 5.3 seconds/13.8 1/4 mile. The slowest I saw in the manual version was 0-60 in 5.8/14.2 1/4 mile. Oh, well, perhaps this month they decided the Forester was a wagon.

I love doing this w/my Forester. Am I the only one?
I see some 50 year old douche cutting through traffic in a Lincoln LS V8. 1/2 mile later we find ourselves next to each other at the light. Hell yeah, I'm gonna rip him a new one. Best part, the guy never sees it coming, as my car is the ultimate sleeper. I love doing this to ultra-loud Harleys even more!

Nevermind their speed and how fast they are. ALL of these SUV's have great road presence. And they all sound great on the punch!

Surely they tested the Typhoon back in the day. If C&D got 5.3 seconds, then MotorTrend would have had it in the list as well if they tested it.

Bravo Infiniti.....got 3 in the top 10 fastest...while the others got 1 or 2....cant imagine...how it was a decade back...but now it was definitely a remarkable change.
