White House "Looking at all options," Toyota stock drops 10% Honda cuts production

The S&P said a month ago that if the credit crunch wasn't taken care of, by 2009 the world would be facing global automaker liquidation. That's what we call the Carpocalypse and it's getting much closer to reality after Senate Republicans killed the House bailout bill without brokering a compromise, hung up on an attempt to strong-arm the UAW into a wage reduction for current workers that apparently isn't factually based.

Meanwhile, Toyota poised for its first U.S. sales decline in 13 years, canceled its 2009 annual dealer meeting in Las Vegas to trim expenses as consumer demand for new cars plummets. Additionally, the Japanese automaker released a statement saying a bankruptcy among the not-so-Big Three would "exacerbate an already difficult environment" for itself and the industry as a whole. On those comments, and thanks to the Senate Republicans, shares were off 10% in Nikkei trading today.

If it happen to be that the Union didn't want to give in to the Senators and if anyone has listen to the reports, not just the Republicans, but a large number of Democrats wanted the Unions to look at ditching their contract agreement before 2011 as a concession, then again, how could it be just the Republicans? They didn't get us into this mess. Not just Republicans, Dem and Independents want the Big Three to be responsible and not toss bad money after bad. You see, it is so easy to call names like stupid, ignorant, blind when there isn't any facts to lay down to evaluate. My son 8 year old does that when there isn't anything else to say. Least see, I've been called, narrowminded when I don't agree, stupid, ignorant, a House negro, intolerant you name it, because the left just love to demonize those they don't agree with and spit venom but I understand. Badgewhore, true the Reps didn't sign on completely but also see how many Dems didn't as well. I'm not a Rep, or a Dem, just a person that thinks and reads beyond the headlines and not try to force my view on someone and find an article to fit my point of view so that I'm right.

And what miracle is happening then?

Are you ready to hear Obama say none of this will be fixed even at the end of his term?

Because that's probably the reality.

These problems are way bigger than one man being responsible for and one man fixing.

You're being a little naive here in my opinion.

Its not one man, its a whole philosophy. That one man just happens to be the main guy who implemented that failed philosophy.

I bet you voted for him. Whos naive?

No DinamoR, not that you speak the truth, maybe in your own mind, but because you sound so naive with your 6 grade Micheal Moore mentality. I don't have to prove my point. Reality goes way beyond this blog. Live long enough, you will see.

And how can you really think that one man is the reason for all of the world's problems? Wow, you are 17. The devil is SMART enough not to take blame for all the bad that goes on, and he the prince of darkness!

So now I'm dumb and there is no devil. So where does the idea of evil come from?

I was referring to our world's problems Badgewhore. A number of thing has happened and to just scapegoat doesn't make sense. The crazy people you mentioned had a dictatorship and yes, ran terror through their respective regions.

What about us? Our situation from the banking all the way through the housing industry has many, many reasons why things has failed. Why did the sub prime loans materialize when senators where warned up to 5 years ago that if the housing market started to drop, we would have this very thing happened, and Senator Barney Frank stated it was just fear tactics? Why did Fanny Mae and Fraddie Mac fail? Why did the big three decide decades ago they would not build cars to compete with the world? Why did terrorist decide to attack us not just during 9-11 but during the early and late 90's as well under Clinton, Carter and Bush? The inconvenience at the airport, my understanding is that 9-11 caused that, uh, not Cheney. I have no issues with you Badgehore, but at the same time how can you say I have "evil intentions" I don't even know you! This is just a blog with an exchange of ideas and to go off like that and insult is beyond me. What has happened to you have a point of view and I have one and we agree to disagree. So now I'm evil. Wow. Amazing. No need to respond.
