Swedish government bails out auto industry with $3.4 billion

The Swedish government have presented a $3.4 billion support package to their auto industry. The plan will offer credit guarantees, emergency loans and research funds to companies such as Volvo and Saab, who have been asking for government help.

How every decides to buy Volvo or Saab should combine them into one automotive unit.It should be set up like Audi is to VW or Acura is to Honda. Obviously Volvo should be the Luxury division. They could jointly share platforms but retain their distinctive styling differences.I think together it makes them a stronger company.Out of US hands these companies could recast themselves as truely the Swedish BMW and Audi.
