Toyota Delays Prius Mississippi Assembly Plant Indefinitely
Toyota Motor Corp. says it will delay opening its new plant in Blue Springs, Miss., indefinitely as it copes with the downturn in the auto industry.

The plant northwest of Tupelo was scheduled to begin production in 2010 and make the Prius hybrid.

Toyota spokesman Mike Goss says the plant's construction is about 90 percent complete. He says the company will finish building the plant but will indefinitely delay the installation of equipment.

There is an old Saudi joke,

"Whats the perfect price for oil?"

"$100 a barrel,$100.00 a barrel, $10 a barrel, $100 a barrel,etc..."

I am glad you are smart enough to root out our selfishness and arrogance.
Yes, next time oil rebounds it will be more than just over $4 a gallon - Look at $6-$8

Badgewhore,

The biggest slap to the American Taxpayer (seeing as to how the taxpayer suddenly is important... only when Detroit is in the spotlight) is the fact that speculators are even allowed to bid on energy and raw materials.

Vested oil interests and financial interests control Washington DC. I guarantee that these oil speculators lost tons of money in the markets the past few months, but it doesnt matter. Those criminals just have to call up the government (or fly on their luxury jets which congress seems to "overlook"--just like Nanci Pelosi) and get tens of billions, if not hundreds of billions. No questions asked.

Detroit... the backbone of US industrial might.... has to BEG and plead for a damn loan.... and in the end, it will Massively serve America's economy and technological/industrial might.
