2009 BMW Z4 sDrive35i in detail
We saw the official reveal of the 2009 BMW Z4 this past weekend and we saw videos of the new hardtop roadster in action yesterday.

Today we bring you some new images of the 2009 BMW Z4 sDrive35i - one of the two variants BMW will offer in the new Z4 lineup (the other variant is the 255-hp sDrive30i). The 2009 Z4 sDrive35i is powered by BMW’s outstanding 3.0L twin-turbo inline-6 engine that makes a total of 306-hp. That allows the Z4 to go from stop to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds when mated to a manual transmission and 5 seconds flat when mated to the new 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters.

I like the slight improvements of the exterior and MAJOR improvements of the interior

To elaborate, the Z4 seemed a little cheap on the inside compared to any other vehicle put out by BMW.
I wonder if active steering will be standard on this Z generation as well?

the Z never had active steering. not even an option.

???

it wasn't active steering in the old one. was a different version of servotronic that was completely electric, thus yielding a little odd steering feel at times. the new one is supposed to lose this system from what I've heard, not 100% sure on that though.

so I guess the M version will be the "Mdrive40si". . . The whole thing naming scheme is just lame.

Agreed! BMW is on a whole different level of ridiculous with the naming scheme. Dont anyone give me the "it's the same number of letters" BS. The problem is the flow.

The M version wouldn't be called that, just simply Z4M like the last one. Hopefully...

I had a 2006 Z4 3.0si. It was a fun car. Seems like they improved it in every aspect. I love the design. The new iDrive is awesome.

Question...
Why is BMW calling these new models SDrive/Xdrive?

The Truth is Out There

such a looong name for such a small car.

Soon they'll have to put inline 8 cylinders in their cars too have enough space on the fenders to put the badge on.

I love the interior. It is obviously still a BMW but it looks so much richer than anything else lately.
