Tata to sponsor Ferrari F1 Team in the 2009 season
The Indian car company that owns Jaguar and Land Rover, Tata, has decided to pay for the Ferrari F1 team from next season. Ferrari chief Luca di Montezemolo said “For the first time an Indian brand will appear on a Ferrari.” There’s still no official info on how much funds the Indian firm will put in Ferrari. The Ferrari deal came from the Fiat board where Ratan Tata sits. Tata and Fiat have an existing joint undertaking that aims to manufacture diminutive, low-priced vehicles in India. The news comes as Jaguar and Land Rover, both owned by Tata, continues to influence the UK government for a £1 billion tax-payer aid.

Isn't Tata sponsored Force India this year? Very surprising they decided not to contineou sponsoring their native team but i think it's a good move. Force india is just too much behind the leading teams.

Funny how Tata is begging the British government for help with Land Rover and Jag, but they still have plenty of cash to sponsor an F1 team.
