With a name like Touring, it better come with Bridgestone Turanza P235 R20 Touring Tires, HID headlamps, Projector Driving Lights, Heated Mirrors and Seats, Steering mounted Climate, Audio and Cruise buttons as Standard Features.

The term Touring in this case refers to the fact that its the Station Wagon version, not a more sporting one.

Touring is supposed to be for long distance driving. Quite tires, Lower Geared axle for city torq, Quite engine with extra power for the interstate. Years ago Ford offered a Unique Steering Pinion Gear for there touring model, which had a higher respose ratio for the steering.

I do remember now that Europe uses the Touring name as synonymous with Sport Wagon.
