Nissan GT-R race car caught on track
Just recently, Nissan have been testing their most current race car model which is most probably being prepared for the FIA GT racing in the Japanese circuits. Spy photos from AutoSport magazine have been made available on stands in Japan. Some of the apparent modifications give clues to some considerable upgrades. The bumper at the front is substituted with a carbon item that comes with a more aggressive splitter, the fenders at the front are flared out and made from carbon also. The broad body goes along the side skirts to the rear sections which are bulked out and vented for the brakes at the rear. Huge AP Racing brakes from the SuperGT range vehicles find there position at the back of the Rays forged aluminum rims which are also taken directly from SuperGT. The wing at the back is likewise a new GT spec item which may have some connection to it’s SuperGT relative.

Not the most exciting news as the whole GT-R craze was just a phase and over-hyped a bit but it's definitely very cool. What do the LF-A myth fanboys have to say about this?

Definitely Not just an over-hyped phase. Unless you mean an everlasting phase. If so, then Porsche would not be scratching their heads and working overtime through the holidays to see how in the world will they produce a better 911 that will not cost one-quarter of a million dollars.

I don't think Porsche's worried about trying to match Nissan in price. Their not a value brand name to begin with. I believe Porsche's PDK transmission will help them shave off some good time but getting that grip on the pavement will be another obstacle since the engine is in the rear. But if you've driven any Porsche, from the Boxster, 911, to CGT, their really darn good, you can't take anything away from them.

In terms of Japanese cars the LF-A will just be an overpriced Lexus that people with a mid-life crisis will own. If you're spending a quarter of a million on a car it should be European. You could probably have two GTR's for the price of one LF-A and why not? one for the track and one for the road.

Ladies & Gentlemen.

I finally received my GTR. It was delivered to my driveway. To put all the fuss to rest. I am a proud 997TT owner and now a happy GTR owner. The 997TT is no slouch and it performs great and is one of the most solid cars I've ever owned, hell it's a Porsche so it's expected!. Let me tell you the driving experience is totally different between the two monsters. 997 is more raw with manual transmission and necessary footwork whereas the GTR you can relax and flip the paddle in a more relaxed manner. The GTR is another beast that I can now say is mine and I still have a couple weeks to break it in so no highway runs yet. I just thought I would like to share.

Is it possibly just a GT300 spec car for SuperGT?

@Styles79

i don't thinks so, GT300 cars never have stock looking front fenders.

Are you an idiot? The car comes stock with 400~425whp. Why the hell would they detune the car?

Fair calls both.... I guess it would make sense for Nissan teams to stick with Z's for GT300.
